TUKIO CAPITAL is a Venture Capital Fund, strategically dedicated to supporting African Businesses that are at the forefront of addressing the continent’s most pressing challenges, both for its people and our shared planet.
What we offer: “capital, mentorship and access”
About us
Tukio Capital addresses the existing missing-middle funding gap. Our team has significant experience in building, funding and growing tech-enabled African businesses. We, as fund managers, back start-ups that benefit people and the planet, primarily focusing on Eastern and Southern Africa.
Together, we have experience in managing African Venture Capital funds and equally have experience as founders of local B Corp businesses. This experience allows us to understand the challenges and the opportunities that come with running successful businesses in Africa. We are in the unique position to use our decades of experience to invest in the kind of founder who is cut out to seize the opportunities presented on the continent.
About Tukio Capital
Tukio Capital was launched in 2024 by Olivier vanden Eynde, Keith Wallace and Alef Meulenberg. Keith has pioneered Venture Capital through Impact Investments in Southern Africa for over a decade, whilst both Alef and Olivier have successfully grown, (partially exited) and invested in multiple ventures in Kenya and South Africa for Fifteen to Twenty years. Together with a capable and experienced team we are now investing in startups that positively contribute to solving to Africa’s challenges relating to people and planet.
Since early 2024 we are raising our first fund - $25m with which we aim to invest in a minimum of 40 startups across 10 countries. Collectively through our individual organisations, we have already invested over $50m into African businesses and now wish to use this experience to grow exciting startups in Africa, whilst providing good returns to our investors.
