About Tukio Capital

Our Aim

We are an Africa Based Venture Capital fund,
we aim through our deals to solve three problems:

a)Solving the missing middle funding gap in Africa’s Seed to Series A investing landscape.

c)Generally, we aim to exit deals in 5-7 years.

How we Invest

  • The fund invests businesses that focus on solving Africa’s most pressing issues relating to people and planet. Ventures should ideally have a tech component as we look for scalable solutions within viable business models.
  • Within our first fund, we aim to invest in a portfolio of approximately 40 startups for between $100k – $500k per investment on standardized terms. The approval process is between 1 and 2 months after agreeing to terms. Within this fund, we first source from our Southern, Eastern and Northern African networks. Secondly, we source from referrals of other VC firms that invest in Series A and B stages, as well as other feeder funds.
  • We use the networks that we have gained from investing in and operating ventures throughout Africa, but with a strong focus on Southern, East and North Africa. Some of our focus countries include Egypt, Tunisia, Kenya, Rwanda, Malawi and South Africa.
